No it wouldn't. And no, he didn't raise him. Yes, they have a 11 year age gap but that alone doesn't make it grooming. Grooming is purposeful, manipulative and sexual in nature. Nothing like that has happened in this story.

Not only that grooming isn’t always purposeful. It can still happen without ill intent he knew him has a teenager. Meanin there’s a large gap a power imbalance. To know him has a kid and still end up with him would be odd and rather weird.
He taught him the trade, he did not RAISE him in the sense as a parent would.
Then please, just say it makes you uncomfortable. Stop watering down the term for such serious actions. This is how we get to things like people saying it's pedophilia if an adult talks to a minor in ANY situation.
