I think I've got this figured out. I've been reading comments on a bunch of similar stories, complaining that they're getting boring and I think it's recency bias. When your score to read it all at once, you have everything fresh in your mind but while you have to wait so long for a chapter to come out, you read other stuff, you forget details and suddenly all those little elements that pulled you in so much while reading to catch up aren't as important as they felt when you first read it, so when we get to the not quite as impactful spots in the story that are supposed to function as relief from the more thrilling parts, on top of the week+ long breaks between chapters, instead of feeling like a break to catch it breath, it feels more like the story is getting boring.
idk why this book js doesn’t hit the same as when i first read it :(
