I mean the line of thinking isn't unreasonable. He overheard what was said and knows that he confessed to the dude and could easily infer that he was feeling betrayed and unlovable. Even though I don't think it's what he should've done, it's not that wild. And it's not like that makes them inhuman, I know quite a few people who go out to have sex during hard times since it's it's an outlet. Is it always healthy? I think your "normal human" sentence is what I equated to less than human so it probably irked me. And based on my usual thought process and me double checking the shit I was writing about, I definitely did think "That's wild bro" when he asked if he wanted to be embraced by him, but I could still see his line of thinking and where the question came from. So despite it being out of pocket, I could still see how he came to the proposal. Like from my pov I assume it was just he heard bro saying no one wants him and shit and he decided he'd show him he wants him. There are more "tame" versions of manipulation, it doesn't have to be super explicit in the way some people manipulate. But trying to initiate something while someone is upset and they're not thinking straight I would say is a form of it tbh. Also about him showing him that he wants him, he could've done that in a different way imo, like could've straight up told him that he likes him or could've just ignored it and just comforted him and told him later. I just think there's a lot more better ways he could've handled that
