Yes and equally no. If someone calls and asks for a pickup, especially someone from another country, it’s only right to pick them up. They can be in a dangerous situation, scared or feeling vulnerable. So I wouldn’t automatically assume Yiyoung is showing no respect to Kang or his relationship, without hearing why someone is asking for a pickup.
Just as we shouldn’t automatically assume Kang was a complete and total jerk when he did the dirty with Yiyoung. Yiyoung loved it, so nothing wrong happened. It didn’t seem consensual when it happened, but apparently it was. If Yiyoung thought negatively about it, then we’d be up in arms against Kang.
It’s not a friend issue. It’s someone asking to be picked up.
Kang told his boyfriend, to his face, they aren’t going to last and that Yiyoung will date more amazing people in the future. Kang believes their relationship to fail. Respect? That’s the level of respect being dealt.
(Why would you bother dating someone if you don’t want them to be endgame? Because Kang is just going through the motions at this point.)
Flawed people with flawed thoughts and actions, it doesn’t make sense. It never does.
I had a skim through to check. Ahn did say he was on a whim so he was not taken seriously. BUT EVEN then, the guy was asking for help - a guy who has not been in Korea for so long, does not have other friends to call, and is his boyfriend's friend AND major shareholder/investor of their company. Ahn genuinely thought the guy was in danger. Ahn told Kang where he was going.
If you are not confident with your relationship and will accommodate flirting with the other guy, then yeah that is disrespectful. Otherwise, it is not. Especially when going out of genuine concern.
bro if yiyoung goes to pick him up it really shows he has no respect for kang or his relationship.
