Anyway according to the novel, the dragon really intends to harm izek since it is mad at him, it thought that izek is the reason why rubi cannot visit the dragon or that izek is trying to separate rubi with the dragon.

Then later rubi will come and save the day with her other monster friends, she’ll talk to the dragon and clarify that izek is not trying to separate them.
