I'm an artist and an author so if the story only had one (albeit major) flaw, I will take one. The art is above average-stellar and the story up until there was pretty compelling. I'm the kind teacher who gives students high grades and am heavy handed with my appraisals. Fee things get less than 4 stars for me because if it's under that, I won't read it. It won't be interesting enough to keep my attention and I won't feel like I gave it a fair review if I hadn't read the whole thing.
I'm the math teacher that if you die your work by all the answers were wrong, you'd still get half marks for doing the work. So someone who is good at memorizing equations but horrible at doing actual math could in theory still pass. That's why despite such an important part being abysmal, it's there, it took an interesting turn and it did have an ending... it was just a terrible one that left nearly everything unexplained. Heck, we didn't even get a proper kiss out of the two despite their getting married! But that doesn't, to me, mean the rest of it was as bad.
I don't disagree with your decision to dock 2, I'm just explaining why I'm a little more lenient. I'm likely equally annoyed that this happened though, trust me.
I understand. I'm just really frustrated, you know? I started reading this when it was first added to this site in spring of last year, and I feel kind of cheated. I'm sure I'll change my rating once I've collected myself, and I will admit it was a knee jerk reaction. Regardless, I see your point, and I agree.
I removed a star for that cop-out of an ending. So much was left unexplained.
