i like my pushy toxic tops as much as the next guy but compared to wolsey, awra is able to be pushy AND respect ramdane's autonomy to an extent. obviously he shouldn't have locked ramdane up and tie the dude to him but if the author had stuck with it, i can see his clumsy and destructive attempts at holding onto love be expanded upon and discussed by him and ramdane and open up new doors for him to healthily process emotions. in terms of character development, he's able to change in 1 volume way more than wolsey ever did in 6, and it's such a shame that a dynamic character like that is stuck being a stepping stone for a couple who should've stayed divorce to get back together
Sure, Awra is a sympathetic character, and handsome.. but you can't have a character "respect ramdane's autonomy" then kidnap him, lock him in a room, and tie him outside like a dog.. Would he, could he change, yea, I think so, but too late, because Woosley and Ramdane love each other.. they just don't fit in the world they are living in.
i clarified what i meant in another comment lmao. that's why i followed that up with "to an extent". ramdane and wolsey love each other, sure, but i'm not a fan of how that love story played out. if the author wrote them better then maybe me and other readers wouldn't want to see ramdane get together with the some rando
honestly i never really fw wolsey from the start bc it doesn't look like his personality serves a purpose other than to be obsessed w ramdane. like i had to drop bc the plot wasn't going nowhere and he wasn't compelling as the ml, until the pirate guy..... the pirate guy omggggg there's so much and i mean SO MUCH more potential w him and i wish to all heavens that the author wouldn't pussy out. should've just stick w the divorce and let ramdane get w him !!!!! like omg !!!!
