I believe he is only cold to him to protect him - in previous chapter we saw how confirmed phrophets are treated and used. If MC stays next to him, more a eyes on him and higher chance to be discovered thus he is being stupid by sending him away

It is quite understandable for Alexis to hate the MC right now since it is shown how he loathed prophets and mind you traumas can't be that removed/resolved easily especially when it becomes a mindset permanent to that person. Tho I understand the hate of the sudden change in emotions, I guess its the author's fault for not giving a more proper transition to its emotions
