Even if Abel doesn't look like a bear anymore, his soul, gestures and ways are still the same even in that tiny body. That's how you feel someone is still the same.
I'm pretty sure that the prince hasn't killed him not because he needs him to guide the way, but because of that sense of familiarity and ease he can't quite make sense of.
Can't wait to see when they do recognize rach other, I know it's still pretty far ahead though (/TДT)/

    I mean he still is. His big body is not his main defining feature or a big part of who he is. His gentle soul and kindness is what the prince and everyone else remembers and loves him for.
    Even if he’s physically weak and sickly now, who he is inside won’t change at all.
