I don't get the prince

I don't understand Noah's motivations at all. We barely ever hear him talk and when he does the heroine always stops him.
Then he cooks up something randomly to fuck with the main cast but it feels... staged?
There doesn't seem to be any logic behind his actions other than just being "the bad guy" he has no character outside of that, there is no depth. He suddenly he loves the heroine but.. why?
Like, maybe I'm missing something. Am I the only one that feels like this?

I feel like it has to do with the story line. They're probably being railroaded, or at least the plot is trying to do that

Yeah but what about everyone else? Why is it just him that feels like a cardboard cut out?

It could be because his only purpose in the original story was as a love interest so he doesn't have any other personality trait or character development. Like we see Luke is doing investigations and Reynold is always training but Noah's only occupation is "being the prince". Without the original story he has no reason to exist or to change, he's just an npc. And that would also explain why he said the same words to Aerinda that he said to Serena when he confesses his feelings, it's almost like the plot is forcing him to continue..

Yeah but why is he the only NPC? Unless the plot explains it and makes sense out of it, it's just bad writing.

Because his character development is supposed to happen after he falls in love and "gets saved" by the original MC. Rather than bad writing I see it as a parody of the typical coldhearted ML on these stories (could be wrong tho, we'll see..)
