I feel like the wroter just didnt want to feel insecure abt the fl and thts why they made the king an idiot instead of an asshole but i feel it wouldve been more interesting and deepen the plot if they just had the emperro share some of the blame and have the imperial family be a little antagonistic. That would alsonmake the fl way more interesting with her having to choose between the neutrality or enmity of her father towards mc or to side with him completely. They couldve even made this an enemies to lovers. We were robbed.
The thing is, the author probbly didnt go that direction bc of the very obvious main focus of the story being the restoration of his dragon lineage and the mystery behind his family's downfall already has an answer to that. The archduke once called the current emperor a usurper, so at one point, the archduke probbly had more power than the emperor before the emperor took the throne. So yes, i feel like it's completely possible for the emperor to have been oblivious to this granted that he's also completely unaware of the archduke's association with the pagans. Goes to show that he just wasnt the best candidate to be emperor but at some point, they would have rather have him than the tyrant that became an archduke.
I didn't think it was possible but the princess and king both full of bullshit. As a king you never once thought to check on your people housing and territory situations. I bet if Mc didn't gain power the princess would never had fallen for him or the king wouldn't had check about his house taken away as a kid. Just full of bullshit.
