Awww shucks. Yeah, I noticed this isekai is doing something "different" than a few others I've read. It suddenly went from simple to...very complex with multiple layers. I, of course...love stuff like this. Am I a Xenogears nut, yes, yes I am. So, if there's a manga you and I have both read and you're curious if there's some deeper theme beyond the simple meaning displayed, I probably know what's up. I like to understand the meaning behind writing decisions or etc.
Hmm, I mean, it depends. If you want a simple and quick romp without any meaning, then sure. But, the author clearly does desire more depth and meaning as shown. It just might not be for you and that's fine. I actually have a few similar BL isekai I can recommend that like to have a bit more of a straightforward plot while still being juicy and faster paced (or still maintain that deep story telling in exciting ways that keep you engaged (basically one you are looking for, 2-3 chapters compressed down to 1.)
I’m confused by some of the comments. Some people seem to get it, and some seem to want something else which is natural, but I don’t want to believe that people “don’t get it.” What I’m referring to is that some might not have notice that the importance of the egg is not the egg itself, but everything surrounding it from politics, to culture, the main character being accepted at all.
Season 1 wasn’t exactly off to the best start as it suffered from being a bit too shallow and undeveloped with its primary focus being sex almost. When you think about it, it would beg the question, why have an isekai if we are gonna learn nothing about this world. Kouichi coild have been someone of that world as the race he was compared to so they could skip details about the world. So, as the series goes, you can tell the mangaka did want to flesh out characters, the world, the races, etc. This has honestly put it above many of the other isekai slop out there that literally just has a mary sue cast, or the bland ‘everyone grapes the MC’ plot, or echo harem, etc.
Now, I may be among few who actually like when a character struggles and has flaws, or that they are not accepted by everyone right off the bat. I may be among few who actually like when a plot is actually front and center, and makes the reader yearn for those earned romance scenes and etc. But to forsake a patient means to world building, would be to run fast as wisdom chases after you, but it can’t keep up.
