Sometimes authors just want to switch it up a little and try something else, which is totally fine. I don't really understand what's weird about that. I guess, if you don't really like those kinda stories with a darker theme or with some heavy stuff then of course you will be disappointed. But you can't expect the author to do the exact same thing over and over again.
i never said i didn’t like it, i said i hated when authors switch up because 9/10 it never works, and they be trying too hard to make it as toxic as possible so yes that is kind of weird to me !

i hate when authors first book be something sweet as pie and then the next book they come out with be an attempt at a wannabe killing stalking... just like my purrfect boss and placebo it’s weird to me idk
