The story has a novelist/mangaka and his friend. The novelist/mangaka was having trouble making works about romance, so his friend suggest that they should date to help the novelist/mangaka become inspired. The friend already likes the novelist/mangaka before that, iirc. At one point, the novelist/mangaka ask the friend if it is too unfair for the friend that they are only dating for work inspiration at that point, and the friend was pretty okay about it (they eventually become actual lovers at the end of the manga)
