It's written by a woman but I agree, I don't like how some of these stories make the female sex into the bad guy. Also I don't think it's infantizing - he doesn't look like a child, he looks like a woman, which a lot of Asian ukes tend to gravitate to (appearance and behavior wise) in real life though I think in this case, Hotaru has extremely low confidence and is extremely shy. I don't think the personality is something to hate (there are real people like this) nor do I think it's pathetic - for one, he actually took action (though the action itself was questionable) and explicitly confessed, apologized - things that many people won't do because of their self inflated egos.
Don't take what society is feeding you as given - strong characters are not necessarily the ones who are physically strong or ones that are the loudest (and sarcastic like the western women tv likes to portray now a days). They are also the people who go against their nature to be courageous.
I think he's cute and not pathetic and this is coming from a woman who loves strong, beefy ukes or strong, delinquent ukes.
this feels like it was made by a 13 year old weirdo who thinks constantly infantalizing the uke in both behavior and physical appearance is cute, and has zero idea abt how normal women normally acts around men (i.e. definitely not as desperate clingy anti-gay villains)
