He didn't actually kill him and Daiki knew it. His grandfather had just lost his daughter, Daiki's mother, and Daiki's father wanted to leave and take Daiki with him (which is fair tbh) but he felt Daiki's father wasn't thinking straight from grief and also didn't want to lose them as well, so locked him in a room til he calmed down. He never expected Daiki's dad would shoot himself in the head. He feels insanely guilty about it but Daiki knows he didn't lock him in the room for any malicious reason.

bcs gramps didn’t actually kill his dad. he just prohibited the dad from leaving his room which caused the dad to kill himself.

It was mild because he already knew. What's the point of an overly dramatic reaction when he's already processed the feelings and forgiven his grandfather for his actions in the past?

    daiki is literally a yakuza.

To be fair, Daiki don't have any emotional connection to his parents since he never had the chance to meet them. Also, he was raised to be a perfect Yakuza. So the reaction is kind of to be expected
