I cannot handle how fucking amazing this is! It’s like the holiest onion, there are actual layers to it, I usually expect at best, fingernails depth but this is so so fleshed out. Complex characters, a really heart rending and painful story about childhood trauma, loneliness, queerness and bullying wrapped up in a romance that’s perfectly paced. An MC who’s his own person and Minjae! He’s so interesting. I enjoy the depiction of his depression. I love that this story acknowledges that people struggle with all sorts of pain, it isn’t black and white. Can’t not mention the older man who works for the MC, he’s a wonderful character.
And finally Andy, I am so impressed by how the relationship between them is written and his characterization. How important they were to each other. The MC acknowledging that he felt like an outsider to the complexity of their bond, how he felt jealous of him and how much harder it was that Andy wasn’t a drama villain.
I cannot explain how in love I am, head over heels with this story. And it’s causing me genuine pain that this going on another hiatus. I wish the creator the best and all the rest. I plan to hopefully not obesess over this work and come back in a year. Pain…
