Typically sounding is actually more painful than catheters. Most catheters are probably slightly wider than a beginner sized sound, and they do go farther (all the way to the bladder), but they’re usually flexible and much softer than a metal rod. They’re also typically inserted when the penis is only partially/ half hard which makes it easier.
Sounds are rigid metal so it leads to more risk of injury and more discomfort.
In this scenario especially , the bottom is inexperienced, and they’re using an *unlubricated* normal sized metal sound so it would definitely be painful and burn/ sting. Plus top didn’t seem to allow the alcohol to dry enough before inserting so that would add to the stinging. But idk if it would be to the extent mc is making it out to be.
