Can’t help but come back on it, but for a moment I really thought that J had the upper hand in the end when he said “Makoto” at first I thought they were at the same level and J fooled M in thinking he overtook him. And for that split of moment I thought it made sense bc the whole time J was toying with M showing him how naive he is, and well the whole time the author had us twisted and challenging our prediction. But I do think both of them continuously taking the upper hand could’ve been a “happy alternative ending” That, only if J had returned M’s feeling..
