I heard that, but it’s still not official consequences. It’s just them breaking up I a messy way, not nearly close to the price of their crimes. And also, how can such a blind, unreasonable and moronic psychopath be a DUKE? I hoped that after all is revealed Killain will at least try to fight him for the position of the duke. Also, duke and duchess haven’t really paid for anything either. There’s barely a proper apology
I mean I guess, but do u think it was to the same extent with Killian’s childhood? The neglect towards him? Also, even after the third condition was lifted, they definitely did not act towards her like towards someone who tried to frame/kill their daughter in law (duke may not care bout her, but duchess seemed to). However, I also don’t love the female lead. I just finished the novel and I think she was also an enabler with that constant “merciful forgiveness and saving” towards her. She was lucky that royal family didn’t let Lise completely off, but what if they would have like she asked?
Personal forgiveness is one thing, not receiving any consequences for crimes is another. Same with Clif, he killed many people just cause Lise asked him to, yet he gets to stay as a duke? Nonsense.
I’m currently reading the novel and it seems that neither Clif nor Lise will pay any consequences of their actions whatsoever. Someone please tell me that’s not the case. Also, I get that FL is nice but if she really learns that Lise not only was the author but also someone who played with and murdered 12 other people, and she still lets her go and be the duchess… That’s not nice anymore, that’s batshit insane. Same as letting the psychopath like Clif become the duke. If that’s how the novel ends then I hope at least webtoon will change that cause what the hell. Why do such heinous villains not only get to walk free but also get second to highest power position in the whole kingdom. If FL lets that happen without even thinking about punishing them then honestly, she might as well be called an enabler. Imagine what kind of rulers would they be.
