I believe they're speaking Finnish maybe he spoke it when he was with his mother but when he has something he doesn't understand he asks someone or has the dictionary with him

Am I the only one confused as to how they are communicating. Does Jun know English, he doesn't seem to know the native so it can't be that. Where would he have learnt English though. Rereading for the second time and just thought about it.
