Its that thing he did where he snapped before the battle and a dome spread out. I forget what it's called, but it's supposed to create another space for them to fight that won't affect the real world.
They establish early on powerful awakened can basically make pocket dimensions to fight so it doesn't effect or damage the actual world around them
