He just really lack self awareness. He screws up on his target after not being asked to do that in the first place therefore screwing up mc's target as well and causing his plans to go off course.

I just thinks he's really cool because I think if I worked as a killer and my boss was a crush I feel the only kinda way to impress them or show your worth it in that line of work would be going out in the field but since boss never did that I feel he assumed that boss would think of him as a child or not worth it
