Honestly I think that jj was never wrong he lit tried to talk many times and expressed his points so clearly how leo only see himself in the relationship that he doesn't even listen to what he's saying anymore and the fact that it feels like he's alone in this. Leo just never understood cuz his selfishness blinded him, jj is honestly not to blame for that at all.

I feel bad for leo but I feel worse for jj even if it doesn't show much but he used to love leo and eventhough he was actually mistreated for so long he had such hard time to break up with leo. Even after the breakup he couldn't leave leo that he kept having sex with him and yeah he treated him like shit but that's lit same way he was treated by leo "I need to have sex with u to maintain my luck" or wtv. Him losing his smile breaks me!

Right! And his love did show, look at it like any relationship, from him scrolling through all those pictures to videos you saw how happy he was to be with Leo! But throughout the relationship (like when he wanted to go on a trip but Leo decided to buy him a car he didn’t even want instead) Leo’s selfishness killed his smile! He was hurt, he was angry and he felt unloved (not excuses the forced sex) but let’s be honest, how many of us would say no to an ex we love who asked for sex! We’d probably do it and do it just the same “loveless”! He basically wanted JJ back but his pride wouldn’t let him admit it so he acted like a fool and said he just wanted sex. Leo needs to grow up and learn that others matter too! A relationship is more than treating your lover like an accessory!

I think what people consider communicating is getting angry or upset - which from Leo's POV, JJ has never done within those 5 years. But it's not like JJ was mute. He says what he doesn't like but Leo always does what he wants and JJ concedes. The only flaw I see on JJ is he conceded too many times - probably out of love or because Leo was an athlete that he can't upset too much that it might affect his performance.

Frr the breakup was needed for both of them, for leo to realise his selfishness was taking over this relationship and breaking jj's heart and for jj to eventually take a break from all the mess.

To me, this break up was for JJ to choose himself while Leo to learn self reflection and being mindful/sensitive of others. Leo to realize the world doesn't revolve around him, while JJ to learn and be firm that his world does not only revolve on Leo.

I agree! Healthy communication escapes a lot of people and also the aspect of how introverts work! I don’t see Leo took any time to learn who JJ was and tried to understand his communication style! He (Leo) was the primary focus of the relationship which as you said was because he was an athlete and he probably didn’t want to upset him too much! JJ was a doormat, and I mean that in the nicest way, he really should learn to stand up for himself!
