Duke Ergi, Heinrey's noble childhood friend, known as a sly womanizer and the one and only person who supposedly was on Rashta's side, becoming her friend and ally. But from the beginning he was scheming against her, giving her bad advice and cornering her into giving him the Eastern Empire's port as "payment for all he has done for her" which angered the empire as the port was an important economic good. He was the one who convinced her of wearing an exaggerated wedding gown (which made her look bad), get back at Navier in the worst and dumbest possible ways, he also encouraged Rashta to pursue the empress' seat. Basically he tried hard to get her into the worst position to finally betray her publicily now at the paternity test ceremony.
