I don't like the mother actually. She wanted her deity to become a human for her but didn't even try to accept him for who he is. She IS selfish. Also she blamed him, disappointed in him and made him suffer for years. Bcs of what? Just bcs she couldn't manage her social life and mental healt. Your deity was not the cause of your problems, girl. You just pushed everything on him.
