ML actually noticed MC way before, it was during the gambling den (casino). ML has a sensitive nose coz of his pureblood/purebreed as a wolf. So he finds everything annoying or smells bad/disgusted something like that. While when he noticed MC not only was he was his type MC doesn't smell anything. Like in the current chaps MC's pheromones is undetectable or more like he likes his snell. (idk it was actually confusing with the novel as well, in MLs flashbacks he don't smell MC pheromones but later he says he smells good or love his smell, maybe coz they became mates)
Anyway, remember how MC punched ML. The reason his being mean is because his TEASING MC big time.. LMAOO also basically wanted to be noticed by MC by being annoying. Don't worry ML is a BIG GREEN FLAG to MC.

So I'm just going to add a bit more to the previous comments and say ML also had a trashy family background in which he was forced to be in his original form for most of his life and isolated ,so most social skills he picked up late in life and puppy is his first and only love interest the other guy you see with his sister tried plotting with her to fake a relationship with him to harm him but obviously it didn't work because ML already knew of their plot. Idk. If technically you can call blond wolf an ex as the whole "relationship" was a visage, but I digress ML is a true green flag and tries his best to love MC in his own way it's not perfect but take it at face value that ML will never hurt MC intentionally and subconsciously for that matter.

I lost the comment where they said a spoiler that ML knew all along MC is the puppy and he loved him from the beginning. Can someone, especially those who read the novel indulge me why ML was mean and making MC distress on their first meeting or Chapter 1? I usually hate ML who acts mean to MC then only to fall in love but never apologizes for their past action as if loving and having sex is their only apology. Or is this some “he only likes his animal form”
