To dislike a work of literature simply because it doesn’t revolve around the world and society “you” know, is impressively ignorant. But would this again become another example of the “freedom/for one’s own gain” the West emphasises, and the “obedience/for the collective” the East exists upon? Who knows.
Android vs Human, AI vs the Soul – from what used to be a dream to being in the works to being fully functional, it’ll be a something that’ll be argued over endlessly, and I absolutely adore any and every works of fiction that tackle this dilemma. (I sure do love my sci-fi). The idea isn’t something groundbreaking – we’ve long known the concept of AI & androids & robots, and the issues that they will inevitably come with, but I will always appreciate the conversations it arises.
Kudos to the author for writing this story (I will most definitely be heading off to read the rest of the novel), and great thanks to the artist for understanding the complexities of such a story. It’s a little disheartening to find out the artist decided to end the comic midway, but they did so in a really nice and ‘fulfilling’ way.
