Like, i dont even feel any kind of knife stabbing through ur chest but only frustration bc both of them didnt know how to communicate and be honest with each other. ML has internalized homophobia but is so possessive and obsessed with MC and couldnt seem to figure out his feelings properly for his best friend bc love or emotions for him is just hormones or can be explained by science. To add it up MC often tends to misinterpret his words bc ML is so bad at delivering his thoughts. Then MC also tends to make me roll my eyes bc hes the one who emotionally torturing himself like dude, just be honest with your feelings for once and end your own emotional suffering then if he rejected you then move on.
