If you've watched AOT, then I would compare it to the Paths where Eren does pretty much the same thing lol
These are memories, Hyo-un was able to react to mc was because these are vivid memories, the feelings each individual had in that memory is engraved and felt by Hyo-un untill now. They reacted to him because probably that's how they would react if they were to see him during those times. But idk, maybe I'm wrong
