First of all Helios wouldn’t have all these problems if he just divorced Diana or had been strict with her in the first place. Even when Diana caused problems with the diplomats its Cael and Hestia who had to fix things. When the temple was rightfully criticized his priority was still shielding Diana. Secondly Helios tried to flirt with Hestia knowing damn well she is married to Cael, his supposed “best friend” who always helped him out.
Yes, Helios is better than Diana bc he at least shows remorse and apologized to Cael, but he also needs a slap in the head to wake up.

Please we can’t call a stroke on the head flirt right ? lol he never said he liked her or anything the bitch is just delusional and again Cael is a full grown adult and can handle any situation why does she have to butt in every second as if Helios would kill him or something .
Cael and Helios were childhood friend so fuck Diana or hestia for causing a rift between them . He apologized so she should stop acting over bearing

huh??? Even Helios himself apologized for it bc he KNEW it was inappropriate. Also u’re completely ignoring the fact that Hestia only went after Helios bc he keeps putting his own country at risk and protecting Diana, who refused to apologize to Cael. If u’re biased towards Helios then u should be thankful to Hestia for separating him from the delulu woman who keeps dragging him down instead

I actually agree with you on this. I read the novel and it had me rolling my eyes quite a few times. I get that the OG ML was stupid for abandoning his friend for a girl. And I totally understood why Hestia hated both the OG leads at first. But after the prince apologized, which I felt was actually a sincere apology, I didn't like how Hestia still kept antagonizing him. I felt like she kept finding fault just so she can stay mad at the prince.
What made me annoyed was that at the beginning, she kept saying that she's going to make them apologize, then when he actually did, she still furious. I don't get her sometimes

I agree with you, i feel rather disappointed with how the story turned.
Obviously, the MC still has a very serious case of the « i’m i. A novel « disease. She also chose not to get involved and spectate the story, and find it easy to blame others when she actually did nothing in the beginning (who leaves a suicidal maniac to go shopping for bread seriously ? )
It might be laced with her own guilt, but don’t understand why she keeps hating more, and bothering people who have their own troubles, instead of nurturing her relationship with Cael. Oh right that’s the transmigrator disease, or just plain fear ? Is she keeping herself busy ?
Like you mentioned too, he is also big enough to make decisions for him, take revenge or bury the hatchet should ultimately be his choice
She’s the typical - the righteous « Rescuer » of Karpman drama triangle Rescuer/Victim/Persecutor. And this is sadly a very common toxic relationship model : it helps no one for real, as the victim needs to stay a victim for the triangle to go on , the Rescuer is ultimately helping people without needs, and doesn’t let them grow, it also need to designate a Persecutor to shift the blame onto.
And indeed, you can see that even when Cael recovers his abilities to fight back, she cannot recognize it, and still treat him like a victim he is no more. Note that the Rescuer, designate a Victim (cael) and a Persecutor (the saintess) he needs both of them to keep his function. But by doing so, he becomes the Persecutor of the one he designates too
Everyone is probably very familiar with this triangle, as it is set in most tales, but also in. families, offices, etc … and we’re all familiar with it’s roles - maybe it’s going to seem more obvious taking a step aside:
The saintess is playing in the same triangle, she’s obviously changing seats too, depending on the perspective (it’s intrinsic to Karpam drame triangle)
- she plays Victim: she’s the girl the male leads need to « save ». Being in the palace she’ll meet new baddies and need more saving -that a V ictim (high cap)
To b a victim she’ll keep designating the baddies who wants her wrong. Those are the Persecutors. It’s very obvious in the tea party arc. But we can easily be decidedly . We were probably fine with the regular story villains, but now that she pointed at the MC or being denounced by her it show that to be a V icyim , you indeed need to be a P ersecutor to (high caps again, because it’s a role, not legitimate victims, etc)
It’s less obvious here, but she obviously could have Rescuers characteristics. (Although really people in need is not high cap R escuer, the obvious R escuer being our ML)
And that’s what is truly disappointing for me.
Karpman drama triangle is probably one of the most played games on earth, but it doesn’t help anybody, and make everyone feels worse
It’s probably should be in everybody’s book to learn about it, identifying it, and getting out of it as it’s truly a pain when it settles in
But sadly, both female characters are stuck in this mental disease, it stinks
I also deeply dislike the so many stories where female characters get at each other’s throats for the sake of male (come on ?! Check the animal kingdom it’s not natural !!)
Getting out of this pre processed tragedy is a need for personal growth
Revenge might also be hard wired in our system (as many comments shows), it’s basic function is also meant for the specie survival and seldom is fulfilling for individuals
I understand the MC dislike for the prince and wife couple, but in a systemic point of view, they didn’t kill Carl, he chose to suicide. He said they cut him off, but in this rebirth story, it’s obvious he did shut them out too.
I’m not blaming him, he’s obviously written by someone who made him strangely weak willed
If you step aside from this drama triangle, stop searching for V ictims to R escue and P ersecutor to behead, you can get numerous options to build a different tale
For instance, helping the saintess see her flaws would bring better outcomes - If she realized her powers came from her desire to genuinely help those in need, she also might be able to recover and help more people in real need, : letting her lose her powers might serve selfish needs of revenge, but how can it be good in the big picture of things ?
Eventually it might have saved the king too. Knowing he is someone the ML deeply care for, if anything, wouldn’t it be a better ending than punishing someone he finally gave up on ?
It doesn’t mean that whatever wrong she did would go without consequences, but does she deserve all the hate she’s given now ?
Some characters are meant to be hated, it’s obviously why there are so many « villains stories « flourishing, but as reader, it’s obviously showing us how strongly we are influenced by the camera angle and the chosen narrative :
The beloved heroine of the original tale became a much hated character in that rebirth story
But gaining insight, as readers we could wonder how would any Cinderella turn when she get stuck into a palace system ? With a bit of compassion we would probably accept that it’s neither rosy of easy to fit in.
It’s easy to hate
But isn’t it more interesting to learn ways to grow into better beings ?
It’s a question of perspective
Also feminine solidarity and reconciliation is much needed competence to make the world a better place (isn’t it a real emergency to ?)
Peace
To be sincere I love the story but at times I feel the fl goes overboard . Like she concentrates on her revenge rather than on Cael and again she’s too harsh on the crown Prince like girl f**king give him a break he didn’t kill Cael or anything yes he’s wrong for abandoning his friend but he’s apologized so what’s with her silly attitude like it’s getting annoying,
