I don't know why people are expecting the ML to get better. He's a diagnosed psychopath iirc. Psychopaths don't really feel love like the average human, it's pretty much just an obsession. If you're expecting a redemption arc where the ML genuinely falls in love with the MC then I'd stop reading because I don't think we are going to get that.
