This is the worst way you could’ve defended the shade of the characters skin. “Dark skinned people” shut up. Do not talk about us like we’re some outside species. We are people of colour. All the other comments saying it could be a stylistic choice or how they’re in a fantasy world, even those have a bit of weight to them but your comment does not. Everybody has an undertone. Everyone does. You have one and I have one, nobody can be grey, or black, or white. That does not happen. I think YOU need to start educating yourself.
Also, to the other reply, It could be racist. You never know, you don’t have to be aware of racism to be racist, it doesn’t take away from a serious topic it adds to it. It lets the conversation to notice and correct these things come up more easily. It’s like comparing sexual harassment to a scale. “Oh if we keep talking about guys catcalling girls then rape becomes less serious.” In the end, it’s still sexual harassment.
If you reason like this everything is racist and everything is sexual harassment and everyone is bad and we shall all burn in hell. This is so stupid. Arguing over the skin colour of a fictional character where the choice of the skin tone wasn't even commented on by the author (and I'm 100 % sure they never had in mind these discussions upon choosing a ranged character). So ridiculous..Too many drama queens on the internet.
It is. To cite a specific part of your comment: 'it could be racist' proves it more than enough.
If the racism topic is put up in front of every single conversation then there will never occur a meaningful one. And said topic was put onto banalities like a fictional character. Almost noone actually spoke about the story or personality of the character itself/themselves.
Hope, you get what I mean and I didn't mean to put it into such heated words in my first comments. For that I apologize.
Those of you complaining about the skin tone really need to go outside and experience life and other countries' cultures and in general EDUCATE yourself, YOU are the racist one if you think dark skinned people are supposed to be ONE specific shade of dark skin tone
