Yeahhh I think people are looking past that just cause they don't like him lol she herself already knew she would have a rough life because of the prophecy. there is no "she would be happier, more peaceful". it only seems that way now because she's the Empress. No one is gonna bother a married woman who is the empress. As soon as she's of age and single it's war.
I think the main problem people (or at least me) are having with the ML is the way he's going about everything when he could do so much better if he just communicated honestly with the FL instead of doing it in such a roundabout and manipulative way.
As much as I understand why people don't like the ml, you do understand that theoretically he's the best option for her correct. She's going to be forced to marry either way due to the nature of the prophecy, might as well marry The one dude who would actually care for her. And yes I understand that she wants to stay single but if she stays single people are still going to fight for her hand in hopes of becoming the next emperor.
