Personally, I think things wouldn't turn this way in the past few chapters if they just communicate
and if Jichan realized that Eugene was telling the truth like there's already the hint before that, but the image of “Mido” for him is very different to what is “Mido” right now. Like, he didn't give Eugene the benefit of the doubt.
It's actually turning to be kind of good for them because they started to communicate not until that.
