She's very much alive, and active. It's really refreshing how they changed things up,so it's not cliche. And it's super wholesome too.

She’s not dead at all. She just doesn’t want to live so she’s kinda just watching. Really early on her ancestor is talking to her and truly caring for her. After a bit, the original Windella comes out. And after some care and love, she gets confidence to come out. She is the protagonist. Ancestor and half dragon guy act as her grandmother and father respectively and help her make her own decisions and achieve her goals. Revenge comes quickly and has already been translated. You can skim/skip the chapters where it’s the ancestor taking control and action and see if you like it a bit more from thereon.
