I said I like him a bit more, not that I totally forgive him ┑(￣Д ￣)┍ and from ages 9-16 he was genuinely a good dad despite the annoying emotional constipated personalities authors love so much. Even now, he does truly love her and he ALWAYS shows it. I don't like that she had to instigate their relationship as a literal child, but it's a rare one where I actually want the idiot Dad to be redeemed. It's literally the same dyanmic with Claude from Who Made Me A Princess. If I can forgive Claude (who was WAY worse, he kept threatening to kill her!) then I'm open to this guy. (づ￣ ³￣)づ

+ also, learning that someone isn't blood related AT ALL is a HUGE deal for royal families and he's willing to bypass all restrictions and threaten his own position with the nobles to claim her as his, that's huge! It's one thing to do that for a relative, another with a total "stranger". He's late to the party but he's definitely turning up now that he's here you know?? Again, like with WMMAP Claude always knew Athy was his bio daughter through and through and still chose to kill her in the alternate ending but he still gets loads of praise for changing in the same way this emperor is trying to. At least this one didn't know she heard what he said, so many of these other dads SAY IT TO THEIR FACE, CRAZY! And STILL get redemption arcs smh.

Yes I completely agree with the person above. It is exactly that. He was sugar coating the fact he told that 100% knowing that Phil was in the background, I was crying for her because of how hurtful it is. And another if comparing with Claude, he accepted the fact he hurt Athy in ways he cannot take back, but instead of by passing laws or whatever behind the scenes stuff, he fully acknowledged her and his faults and did not pushed himself to be her dad, Athy chose him. This case, the emperor does the bare minimum, she was technically the innocent party who was abandoned by her biological mother to be raised by a neglectful father who is not her biological father, added to injury when the truth came out, the real daughter was being loved. Take that all in. The bare minimum he could have done is apologize from the start of what he did

Additional note: notice how Philomel does not accept people easily like she looking if there are ulterior motives behind people around her and her being stone faced all the time... Yeah I blame the Emperor. She killed off her emotions and does not let people in because she was that hurt.

Dude, yes, I also agree with this. If the spoiler is true that he did it on purpose (I only read this, I haven't checked anything else), then yes my opinion will change! Im simply going off where the story is at for the moment. Him loving the other daughter isn't happening in this timeline (yet), so I'm not going to hold that one against him (yet). I actually quite like the spoiler anyway and think it's a relieving ending that she will go with her blood family. I'm not the emperor's stan or something, just making an observation ╮(￣▽￣)╭
