Define “normal”. People need to understand that coping and treatment is different for everyone. Some people need less convincing while other’s don’t. People experienced dreadful and unpleasant events on different degrees. Riftan’s is about literally surviving and Maxi’s is about growing her talent. Y’all keep looking at this at one angle like Riftan is such a menace.
This is why I asked you earlier to define “normal”. What’s normal to almost everyone might not be for him and her. He’s not the greenest flag rn for sure but Maxi’s not the best either. All i’m saying is, it’s not always because of one person or thing or past. It’s not a linear progress. So many ups and downs. I love them both because their struggles are so realistic as it really happens in the world, but instead of understanding this, people criticizes so much.
And really? “When his dick is hard”? Maxi has been passively manipulating Riftan using her “wet pussy” when she wanted something too. She learned the skill and applied it. I can’t understand why Riftan sounds like the only sex maniac here.
“The reason why this book series stuck with me is because of how realistic their arranged marriage was. It wasn’t perfect. No one’s marriage is. They didn’t know each other apart from being intimate in the bedroom. I loved how being married to Riftan helped Maxi grow into a strong, capable, respected woman (everything her father said she’d never be). And in turn Maxi forced Riftan to soften and face his past demons/trauma. Their love helped both of them. I understand why people hate their relationship and the way he treats her, but I felt like that was so important in order for their relationship to grow into what it became.”
She’ll be petty in the next few chapters. I get all your points earlier so im not mad or hating on you. I’m just over here trying to convince you that riftan is not as bad it seems right now, that’s he’s gonna be better and so will Maxi. They need each other’s opposite energies to grow. Go check out the novel. It’s a great story.
It’s true tho. His anger is not misplaced. And lol its so fxcking funny.
If maxi gets treated like a mage, riftan gets called out for being a rude ass, hindering their relationship.
If maxi gets treated like a wife, riftan gets called out for being overprotective, hindering her growth.
Y’all calling him out for a lot of things but he’s not perfect too. He’s navigating through the whole situation. He’ll find that balance with Maxi so give Riftan a fucking break. Honestly, in this chapter, it’s Maxi who’s a bit annoying because she’s so insistent on getting that validation from Riftan. Like leave the guy alone. Everybody needs time and space to think. I love them both but i call out dumbshit when i see one.
