Yes this bothered me too, tbh. It took me a couple of rereads to realize that he was probably waiting for mahiro to realize some things by himself. Like he's trying to show through his actions first rather than just be lip service like everyone else? He's awkward, too, in a way.
The seme has already noticed the uke’s very obvious low self esteem but doesn’t define their relationship, doesn’t outright say he likes him, and just continues to flirt and throw mixed signals, knowing full well the uke thinks no one loves him. I’m not saying seme is in the wrong for anything, but just kind of understand why uke is thinking the way he does. Like what’s with the “I won’t make you anxious” and “you already have me” just say I like you let’s date…unless he doesn’t want to?
