She reasoned with the emperor clear cut that she don't what to marry a stranger and if he disagree that atleast let her meet him . She did step up at important moment like this . She could question why he is still being insistent and talk with him to question his true intentions.

for a long time 2 year is not that much , I don't see any efforts from his side he just standing like a dumb statue （￣へ￣）. He himself did not try that harder .All the sacrifices bulshit he done without telling her is giving hero syndrome vibe.
