He actually cares about them, at least some of them. It happens in one of the chapters further ahead than you are, that he makes a whole scheme to help the tank that has been in his party since the beginning, even if he is someone "disposable" for the MC, but these are rare moments with few characters.
that’s why i have a hard time reading it, because it’s rare even when these people are saving his life time and again. instead of forming an actual bond he’s steady worried about his own hide. and even when scheme on their behalf to save them it’s still for the selfish reason of his own benefit.
idk, i want to like it but i guess i was hoping that he’d at least be honest about what it was he wanted for them plus i wasn’t very comfortable with the whole yandere thing going on with the mage
i mean, i get it, i do. but i don’t think this is my type of genre. I agree i have love hate feelings for the MC but the more i read the more the hate overpowers the love. he’s interesting, and i like his way of thinking about problems, but i get so annoyed when all of them depend on someone else’s help. like, take away the 3 tails he has and he’d be no better than a swindler conning people out of their time money and positions. if he actually cared about these people outside of his own selfishness then i may be able to stomach it, but I’m on chapter 42 and the most he’s worried about his being abandoned. even when he was “comforting” the mage chick it was because he didn’t want her to be fed up with him and abandon him.
i get it, he’s weak and has no real talent so the best he can do is cling to a golden thigh and ask for cover, but it doesn’t seems like he cares for them outside of that. It’s hard for me to form any real attachment or care for these other characters because of that so I’m thinking it’s best i drop.
