It’s very hard to come by a great bl that has both complex character writing and doesn’t lose itself in trying to appeal to bl fans with sex scenes or just smut. Jinhyeon especially is an interesting character to analyze. He’s insecure to a fault and thinks he’s undeserving because of his past, but when he puts on a front, he doesn’t even try to appeal to anyone to change that opinion he thinks others have of him. He thinks he wants to live quietly but really he just hasn’t found the right person(i know, corny) to help him see that he isn’t as bad of a person he thinks he is. I think Uyun is the perfect character to put in this kind of story alongside Jinhyeon. He’s patient with Jin and doesn’t poke fun or even question why he puts on his front, and instead goes along with it. As someone who relates to Jin on a spiritual level, it means the world when someone doesn’t question why you act differently with different people. It just makes you feel alienated all the more when you do. Uyun loves all of Jin, how can I not root for them when their love is so genuine? TLDR: This bl and its characters are rlly authentic.
