"Here u are" is a really good manhua with no toxicity. Good one to start with . It's also my first BL comic / manhua , so I am telling through experience.

I would say mo dao zu shi, if it wasn't so confusing in the beginning for a novice. It's a great story and a lot (and I mean A LOT) of people's entry way into bl so if you can stomach your way through initial chapters and wrap your head around the world-building, then definitely read it!!! (if the manhua doesn't work out, then you can watch the donghua/live action)

as someone else said, a good place to start is the novels written by mxtx (scum villain, grandmaster of demonic cultivation, heaven official's blessing). Outside of that there's Wait for Me After School, Little Mushroom (OH CHECK OUT THE MANHUA FOR THIS TOO!!!), Married Thrice to a Salted FIsh
Is it hard to understand or like really complicated?
For me it was easy to understand . The whole plot is really well written by the author.
It has a manhua adaptation and also Donghua( Chinese anime) . If you are thinking of reading/ trying both Chinese manhua and novel . How about you read this "Heaven officials blessing" manhua here and then start it's novel . Cuz it will give you a heads up on , what kind of story it is complicated or not , interesting or not . Then it can also be your first Chinese novel or manhua both at ones .
