I'd say him and Shoko were a really good combo to save people. With the others you are right, they did nothing.

arg i'm so so frustrated as to how messy and honestly, shitty, this has become. mangaka-sensei just seems like a troll now and NONE of the characters are really reacting in any way about the deaths of their loved ones
