i know theres gonna be sides but i feel like its important for a main story to at least end in a more conclusive note before jumping to the sides which is usually lighthearted. I feel like the exposition on keith’s family blood was done too late, and left feeling way too rushed and sudden. How do u expect readers to move on from the fuckery that the former chairman did to rachel with her eggs???????? In just one chapter?? Like im still reeling from it bc woah???? I couldnt stop thinking about it until the end bc it was so fucked up feel like that kind of revelation could be done with the rising climax and with shin’s perspective in trying to make sense of keith and rachel’s (is it mom or sis?) dynamic. That would have paced the revelation better i think? And for keith’s family blood to have such a big impact on the world building, having it be only one chapter going in depth about it felt too sad. I think there were only 3 scenes mentioned or alluded to it, but it was so brief it didnt leave a big impression
Its always a gutsy move for an artist to change certain aspects of the original work, given if they could do it better. But in this case, i feel like they shouldve stuck to the original. Bc even with the main villain being related to shin’s brother and is his sister in law, her impact doesnt feel ? That big? Maybe its the pacing and but her death fell so flat after building it up through the story lol. I was genuinely waiting for her to come back alive to bite keith instead bc oh the poetics of her taking everyone who held dear in shin’s life! shin going on a murderous rage shooting her continuously even after her confirmed death would be pretty cool to see, i think shin deserves to go ape shit after all hes been through lol
Also, the artist’s original design of the characters popped off so much harder than the current designs. Shin looks gorgeous and ramirez looks like a hot sexy butch. Damn… overall its a 7/10 for me. Could go lower but i rlly did like the pacing for the main couple’s story. The slow burn and shin’s objectivity in balancing his mission and keith was done rlly well. Keith being a bumbling puppy following shin around and trying to get his approval was really cute LOL. Its just again, for supernatural bls like these that its always the plot that falls short instead after building it up for so long :’) hope i get to find a supernatural bl that breaks this curse soon lol
