Even though I’m a little late. In my opinion I think he did that because if he confronted the butler sooner it might not have worked out really well because the butler wouldn’t stop his job to love him. But the way he went about it was wrong.
So the alpha knew the beta loved him since he saw him cry after seeing him sleep with someone for the first time yet the alpha still chose to be a playboy and even have sex with others in front of him after that even though he loved him back. They could have ended together if the alpha just confronted him. What the hell is wrong with him? The beta deserves someone better. He is even worse than other semes that mistreat the uke because atleast they don't fully realise they actually love the uke until later on meanwhile he knew his own feelings aswell as the ukes yet chose to not say anything and make the uke suffer for nothing since their feelings were mutual all along.
