Of course you'll go insane, human mind have limitations. That's why we got depress if we experience bad things repeatedly. It was easier for the evil spirit to control him because at this point, he's not scared of anything because he already experience it, why not live as a villain once again right? Welp, anyways, thanks to him ML will get back his memories.
