I didn't mean it like that. Of course they still have the biological ability to reproduce, and I didn't even consider the factor of love because that's never a thing in an arranged marriage. I meant it like, if she at the very least consented to it or husband went and directly raped her. Being touched by someone you dislike or fear must be terrible.

Yeah, like the comment above said, they had kids because it was part of the marriage contract to have an heir. He was constantly gone doing jobs on the battlefield to make money. In this life, cassia wants her same children to be born, but in order to do that, they need to be conceived on the exact day they were conceived in their past life. It was a big point that was made in earlier chapters to show how little he was home and how not often they were intimate with each other because she could recall the exact dates both her kids were conceived. She consented to it out of wifely duties for the most part, but he was pretty bad in bed, like it was very apparent that he truly didn't know what he was doing, she just never said anything about it because they didn't communicate. But in her second life she didn't hold back and told him to fix himself pretty early on and now they're bangin all the time ╮(￣▽￣)╭
