okay tbc he was raped it’s more like he was groped and while that’s not great it’s not the same level of severity so it’s easier to look over i fiction (really stressing the in fiction part here) for a lot of ppl.
a lot of ppl just say SA which is leading ppl to think he was raped. he was not raped but he was definitely SA’d. and it’s totes fair to still find that super icky and want to drop the story but i think a lot of ppl are also invested in other aspects of the story that they can ignore the SA (it’s also worth mentioning that this only happens for a couple chapters and then stops).
NOT defending it, I remember reading and thinking it was a very odd writing choice but just wanted to give some additional context for those who see others mentioning “SA” and thinking Maythan was raped.
I wouldn’t say most of the cast is two faced. The girls are all pretty chill with exception of his real sister (who isn’t that bad in my opinion but I also have a strong tolerance for “annoying” characters) and her excuse is she doesn’t quite grasp her situation just yet.
The Prince and the Mage are but it’s not so egregious for me. The Prince is very upfront with the original “villainous” which I respect. Maythan’s wishy-washy though which I can see being kind of annoying for some people.
It dawned on me when I saw just how many people seemed so shocked that people were still reading this and then put the puzzle pieces together. What happened is some ppl (understandably) complained about the groping but said “SA” instead of outright saying what happened. Since a lot of people take SA to just mean rape (tbf a lot of BL falls under that category) that seeing it here made them think that he was raped. Kind of the problem when we try and use shorthand for serious topics.
He apologized for the SA and Maythan was like, "maybe he's not that bad" ⁄(⁄ ⁄·⁄ω⁄·⁄ ⁄)⁄ "
