Finally someone with the same thoughts, in the beginning of lhcbwn I literally cried for the uke and what he's been through and like his back story with jenny ( the deceased friend ) the whole story was special... Ridora ;)

The author built up so much suspense and gave so many hints about what happened to jenny and the uke's whole backstory but imma be real it was a fat nothing burger. Literally nothing in the past should have motivated the uke trying to ruin the seme's life. To keep it as spoiler free as possible, the seme's an irredeemable asshole for sure, but the uke didn't even know that yet. The seme hadn't even done anything to the uke or his friend at that point in time . I rly can't believe i'm defending that dick bag of a seme but he deadass had nothing to do with what happened back then. I rly would stay up hours for this story only for the author to give us zero reason for the mc's motivation. The rape was just the cherry on top of reasons to drop that goofy ahh story.

Ofc I agree, the whole reason why I would relate to the uke was how his friend jenny would guilt trip him at times while also being as miserable as him, she would get bullied and such, I thought it was a heartbreaking story lol especially since they were just teenagers with a lot of problems. The uke had me in awe with his heart problems, him losing his only friend who saved him from rape like..? Ofc the author had to RUIN the story?? I genuinely agree with you what was the whole point of "revenge" he should've tried to get revenge on the ACTUAL bullies of jenny, not the guy he "fell in love at first sight" with, bullshit writing, useless uke, and asshole of a seme.

Yeah i agree, the uke and jenny seemed like really well written and relatable characters at the beginning, despite their flaws, which is why i'm actually baffled that the writer decided to go that route with their story. Like the author could've just made it so that the seme inadvertently hurt them by saying something rude about them (wouldn't be out of character for him). Literally anything to give the uke an actual reason to be made at the seme.
Even if the author went that route at having the uke go after the seme for no reason, they could've made it seem like the uke was just trying to cope with the loss of jenny and was trying to take it out on someone more tangible and targetable than just all of the bullies at their school. Or the author could've made it so that the uke doing all of this wasn't actually for jenny but to subconsciously satisfy his own desires of being near the seme. Both of those could've made for actual compelling plotlines and a complex uke (something we're lacking in the current bl webtoon landscape tbh). BUT NO, the author just deadass decided to make him a pushover who doesn't even have enough brain cells to think about what he's wasting his life away for.

We're losing authors actually following the original plot if the story for quick cash grab cause i'm saying the story wasn't that bad at the beginning...sad to admit but I was so interested in the seme's character, I used to love each if individual thoughts, lowkey fucked with the fact that he had an illness too, he was an asshole but the author didn't try to hide it in each of his pov's like he was actually interesting especially when he always used to wonder why and how the uke was always nice and kind naturally meanwhile all he's used to do is play pretend.
I really really wanted to see how the story would go down if he figured out that despite all what the uke's been through he was still the kindest and shit, I wanted to find out what he actually wanted... The whole rape thing that was going with him, him doing all things a piece of shit stereotyping seme would do didn't make sense to me at all. Maybe I was just catfished.

NAH U WEREN'T ALONE. I thought exactly the same of the seme at the beginning. I thought he would just be like a mild dick bag with a mental illness who learned to see the error of his ways once he saw someone's (perceived) genuine kindness and earnestness. Like that scene in the first chapter where he beats the shit out of someone, i used to cheer and say ok iconic cuz i didn't know he would get WORSE. I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see how the seme would react once he finds out about the uke's true intentions or if he would still be enamored by the uke regardless, and he reacted by... raping the guy??? Honestly, the rape came so out of left field, it felt like the genre switched from drama to horror the first time it happened. Now every chapter, the seme's raping the uke so it feels like a really shitty stephen king book. Now i realize he probably won't change for the rest of the manhwa and uke will keep being a pushover. I read the last few chapters of the novel and tbh his behavior didn't seem to have changed at all (though i could be misremembering, i blocked out most of my memories of that shit as a response to the sheer amount of trauma i experienced reading it).

also side note: the uke has a heart condition right. i really thought there would be a plot point about the seme pushing the uke too far during sex or just being an asshole and nearly causing the uke to die from shock due to his heart condition, thus spurring the seme to change. BUT NO. i'm genuinely surprised the uke hasn't died while being raped yet cuz I certainly would've. the shit the seme puts him through nearly causes me to have a heart attack, and i'm just a reader.

Said everything that you needed to say and exactly what i've wanted to explain too (my English is limited shit)
Sad fact is that the uke actually did get hospitalized right? And you know what pissed me off? Is the fact that after all what he made the uke go through, he didn't change for shit, in the second part of the novel (you heard right the author made a part 2!?!?) He still acts like a piece of shit, raping the uke for not answering his damn phone. My timbers were shivered reading the novel bro...I never wanna do ts again, never would wish this on my worst enemies to read ts (I would).
If only I could block memories of this manhwa/novel like you too cause it's implemented in my mind.

for starters, who in god's name was so receptive to that novel that it warranted a part 2 .
second of all, that's actually so sad wtf. the author literally had every opportunity and trope placed in their lap and they still couldn't do anything to change the seme for the better. I'm surprised the US government hasn't made reading this manhwa a form of torture in Guantanamo Bay, that's how bad this is. I can confidently say this is one of the few works of fiction I'm not ashamed to pirate. Which is a real shame because the art and panel work is gorgeous... it's just, why would the artist choose to adapt this novel and not literally anything else?? I get publishing contracts can be predatory but damn did the artist really have no other options?? I hope they can get their dough from this, solely so they can choose to make better manhwas/ adapt better novels.

The sadder fact is that the author is actually making bank off of this bullshit manhwa after all cause why would they even need a part 2?? To tame the thirst of rape fetishists of course. If the artist plan on drawing any manhwa's they can chop chop and get started on my favorite novel that's been discontinued as a manhwa "the fallen duke and the knight who hated him" that one's PEAK, anything other than love history would be better (long ass title too that's how bad this shit is)
I want no part in the other novel the author is working on I heard, NO PART.
